SAM & ERIN OGINSKY

Founders & Directors

After traveling to Cambodia for the first time in 2013, Sam & Erin felt compelled to continue working with this beautiful country. God led them to start Mission 25 in 2017.  Sam has been working in design and marketing for over 20 years and is the owner of Detroit Custom Drum Company. Prior to starting Mission 25, Erin worked for an anti-human trafficking non-profit for 4 years and has owned EJO Photography for 10. In February of 2019, Erin came on as the first US Mission 25 staff member. Together Sam & Erin have 3 children.

NATHAN HLAVIN

Board Member

Nathan Hlavin is the Vice President of Strategic Development.   He directs large accounts, runs various strategy and planning activities, and leads Innovation programs across the enterprise. 

He has over 16 years of executive experience with various roles including HR, Global Account Director, Director of Delivery, Sales leadership.  Nathan served a member of corporates Executive Leadership Teams, assisting in setting governance policy and major decisions across the enterprise. Additionally, he served as Country Manager for UK Operations.  He sits on several non-profit organizations and is a member of the Board of Regents for North Central University and has held positions with St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

He resides in the Detroit Metro area his remarkable wife and their five kids.

JOEL MADSON

Board Member

Pastor Joel is the Executive Vice President of our training partner, Global Training Network. , Joel was a pastor for 21 years - the majority of which were spent on staff at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, WA. Before his position at Overlake, Joel served as College Pastor at Northwest Community Church, in Phoenix, AZ, for five years. He is a graduate of Arizona Christian University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Missions and Bible. Joel has always had a heart to see the nations of the world reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ. He has traveled to 52 countries...training and encouraging pastors and leaders in 23. He and his wife Kathy attend Cascade Community Church in Monroe, WA where Joel volunteers as the Missions Pastor and serves as an elder. They have been married for 42 years and live close to their two married sons and five grandchildren.

PHIL & EMILY SMITH

Board Members

Phil and Emily Smith have been part of Mission 25 since the creation of it in 2017. Both have travelled to Cambodia and have a heart for that country and the people there. Phil is as a full time worship director and runs a school of worship. He has spent years traveling playing music and in the last 10 has focused solely on worship and teaching and mentoring in worship and leadership. Teaching worship / leadership conferences in Germany and Cambodia. 
Emily is a graphic designer and serves along side of Phil in the worship ministry. She has a heart to mentor and see people of all ages find their gifts and empower them in using their gifts for Gods kingdom. 
They have three kids and reside in Michigan.

Usaphea Horn

Board Member

Usaphea grew up in a rural village in southern Cambodia, where his family relied on the rice they grew, which barely sustained eleven members of the family.
Usaphea has dedicated his life to embodying the teachings of Christ through giving and active engagement in Christian ministries. His heartfelt commitment to serving others is evident in his leadership in numerous humanitarian projects, where he has tirelessly worked to bring hope and aid to those in need. He was the National Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child Cambodia, Director of Living Faith Center, Director and Founder of God's Family Center, Head of the Body of Christ Prayer Movement, and a volunteer with Ambassador For Christ International in Cambodia.  Usaphea began his diplomatic career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia (MFA.IC) in 2016. Currently serving as the Second Secretary-Chief of Consular Affairs since April 2022, Usaphea has been instrumental in safeguarding the interests of Cambodian citizens and the Cambodian-American community in the U.S. and Mexico. Usaphea's extensive experience also includes serving as the Acting Chief of the Cambodian National Protection Bureau at MFA.IC, where he focused on critical issues such as transnational marriage, anti-human trafficking and modern slavery, transnational crime, and the welfare of Cambodian migrant workers.
Usaphea holds a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in International Studies from the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh, and recently completed his M.A. in Foreign Policy at the School of International Service, American University.
With a heart firmly anchored in his faith, Usaphea's future endeavors promise further to bridge the realms of diplomatic service and Christian ministry, embodying hope and peace in a world in need of both. He married to Lakhena Hul since 2023 and they have 2 daughters. Mission 25 is honored to have Usaphea as part of our team.

Veasna Yin

Veasna is deeply passionate about sharing the Heavenly Father’s heart with the next generation by helping them align their lives to the power of His word and the work of the Holy Spirit. Veasna has served in many capacities over the last 15 years, including working in anti-trafficking initiatives and the local Cambodian church.
"I love to speak about the life, truth and destiny that God has for His Church".
Veasna has been married for eight years to his beautiful wife, Monirath, and they have one daughter named Gloria.
They enjoy journeying with other couples to see their marriages grow and become closer to the image of Christ.

We are so grateful to have Veasna serve in such an important role on our Mission 25 team!

PÅ« Phärk & Sotheary Khom

Khmer Staff

Phark & Sotheary are engaged and set to be married next year! Mission 25 has been working with Phark's family since 2013. His father, Pastor Andrew Sophun is one of our most active partners in Cambodia. Based in Pursat, Phark is a rare second-generation Christian in Cambodia.
They have been doing a phenomenal job at the school, teaching and leading the students and their families to understand Jesus.
